This is the first feature length film in Digital format produced on such a personality. T. Surendra spent three years on making this film, following Shanna's literary journey, covering live functions ranging from Natya Sammelan to Book releases, meeting persons who threw light on Shanna's contribution to Marathi literature.

T. Surendra knew that he wanted to make a film that would be entertaining and would not be dismissed as a documentary. To this end, he incorporated story narrations by Shanna , which are of immense archival value. Clippings from films and plays keep the viewers entertained.

Shri S. N. Navare has a very significant role in Marathi literature. In his long career, he has been very successful in all the major genres of writing, such as short stories, novels, plays, and newspaper columns. He has earned a great name as a playwright and scriptwriter for cinema and TV serials as well. Shanna has received several awards for his writing.

This film " Gostivelhal Shanna " is an attempt to know everything about this highly popular multifaceted personality, where he humbly shares his experiences, his philosophy of life, his writing process and more precisely his feelings for the common man. He has a very peculiar way of sharing things, which makes it very interesting and reveals secrets of his personality very subtly. This film further describes his journey as a writer very aptly through narration by the young actress Sharvari Patankar.

 

The film brings moments to life in the form of clippings, such as rare footage of Marathi Theatre Conference at Karad and Dombivili, where he was honored as President of the Marathi Natya Sanmelan.
