Synopsis: |

Gundopant Bhanu alias Nanasaheb (Shreeram Lagoo) is a highly respected social worker. Having dedicated his entire life to the upliftment and education of widows in a society that has shunned them, his family comes secondary to his mission. Faced with the superhuman task of raising the family with only a meager contribution from her husband, the impetuous, acid-tongued Savitiri alias Bayo (Rohini Hattangady) often gives vent to her feelings by giving a tongue-lashing to her husband. But under the vitriolic exterior lies a heart of pure gold. Other members of the immediate family include her younger brother Tatoba, her son Purushottam and her daughter Krishna . Her stepson Jagannath, stung by his fathers indifference to his family, has already migrated to Africa . Nanasahebs co-workers in his cause include the elderly Abasaheb and the younger Keshavrao, who is almost an adopted son and in whom Nanasaheb sees his true spiritual heir.
